people we meet

We’ve featured Christofer Salestam’s photography before, and a few weeks ago I got to be part of his exciting project together with Karl Larsson: people we meet. The idea is simple yet brilliant. Every few weeks Kalle & Christofer invite a dozen friends & acquaintances over for cheap beer. A facebook event invite with no visible attendees, a mysterious address a little off the map, and a feeling that behind the cellar door is gathering from the likes of Eyes Wide Shut. Everyone has a connection to one of the photographers, but not often anyone else. Before I figured out just where it was, I was thrown the curveball of a bohemian/rock looking couple and a few heavily made-up blondes entering the door. If only a few people show up, the tension isn’t eased until enough beer is imbibed. Portraits are taken. They are playful, honest, and relaxed. The structure disintegrates into group photos and action shots which capture the atmosphere of the “party.”
